On Monday, April 6, 2026, the President of the Republic of Burundi, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, graced with his presence the ceremonies commemorat-ing the 32 nd anniversary of the tragic death of President Cyprien Ntaryamira, who died in 1994 in a plane crash in Kigali on his return from a regional sum-mit in Tanzania.
The ceremonies began with the Presi-dent of the Republic of Burundi laying wreaths at the tomb of the illustrious deceased at the Martyrs of Democracy Palace, before attending the mass cele-brated in his memory at Regina Mundi Cathedral. On this occasion, the Presi-dent also sent a message to his fellow citizens via social media, calling on Burundians to foster harmony in their development efforts.
